Mike “Mr Perfect” Schloesser of the Netherlands has shot a new world record! He put in 716 out of a maximum possible score of 720 for the 50m compound round. His score, shot at a tournament in the Netherlands in June, beat the previous world record of 715 by a point.
Ki Bo Bae has also shot a new world record, for the 70m round shot by recurve archers at international competitions. She shot a score of 684 at the 2015 Universiade in Gwangju, Korea, to break the previous world record of 662 – which was set by Park Sung-Hyun at the 2004 Olympic Games and had stood for over a decade – by four points. She set another record alongside Choi Misun and Kang Chae Young in the team event as well, the trio scoring 2038 out of a possible 2160, and Ki Bo Bae went on to win individual gold at the event, with the team picking up an eventual silver.
Nice to hear this. Congratulations, Mike! I also support the Koreans. Fighting!
