A brand-new Archery Center for Excellence has been built in the U.S Olympic training facility in Chula Vista, California, as a gift through the Easton Foundations.
Jim Easton, a previous board member of the International Olympic Committee and long-time supporter of archery, was the driving force behind the project, which was designed and built by Bob Easton, Jim’s brother.
The facility boasts a 22,440 square-foot 70m indoor range, an indoor/outdoor range, a fitness room and athlete lounge, and coaches’ offices, classrooms and conference rooms. Within that, it features ultra-high speed video facilities and a 3D imaging system for archers and coaches to use. Jim says, “Part of my vision to support the development of sports education and programs for youth and aspiring Olympic and World Champions has included designing, building and supporting archery training facilities.”
The official opening of the Easton Archery Center of Excellence will take place on 22 October.
