A new-to-the-UK venture is a shoot with the option to compete for money or medals.
Staffordshire Archery Association are running a tournament with a difference – in that you can choose whether you shoot for a trophy or prize money. The ‘Bucks’ division costs a little more to enter, but the top 40 per cent of archers in it will be taking home a cheque worth upwards of £22, which covers the entry amount that is additional to the standard entry fee. More entries means bigger prizes!
The format is a 720 plus head-to-head rounds on the Saturday, and a 1440 on the Sunday. The World Record Status shoot will be held at Lilleshall National Sports Centre on 20-21 September, and the closing date for entries is 1 September. Cadet distances are available for those shooting in the ‘Bounty’ division. You can download an entry form at: www.staffs-archery.org.uk/tournaments.html#inter
