Archery GB’s Big Weekend – in which clubs across the country put on free have-a-go archery sessions – has been hailed as a success. Archery GB states that around 80 clubs took part, with several recording that the interest generated has filled up-coming beginners courses. The initiative was launched three years ago to open up archery to more people on a local, easyto- access basis while the increased profile of archery due to the Olympic Games was still high. It’s been well attended every year since, and has retained the support of Foresters Friendly Society.
